Advent Lutheran Church Commissions Stephen Ministers
Boca Raton, Florida – Advent Lutheran Church recently commissioned the following church members as Stephen Ministers: Lisa Becker, Cynthia Sedlacek, Nancy Varian, Sally Whitney, and Greg Worch. These individuals completed fifty hours of specialized training in Christian care giving and joined a team of three Stephen Minister leaders at Advent Lutheran Church — Christa Humphreys, Lisa Becker and Andrea Ramsey.
Stephen Ministers provide confidential one-to-one Christian care to people experiencing a crisis or going through a difficult time. Stephen Ministers meet weekly with their care receiver to listen, care, encourage, pray, and provide emotional and spiritual support for the person. Caring relationships last for as long as the person’s need persists.
