Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  How do I sign up for a class at ALEC?
A.  A completed registration form for all classes must be completed and
returned with all applicable fees prior to the beginning of each
      class session.

Q.  Can anyone sign up for classes?
A.  Classes are open to ANY child or adult in the community.  You do not
have to be an Advent student or Advent church member to participate.

Q. How will my ECS child get to the ALEC classes?
A.  Your child will be escorted to ALEC and returned to ECS by the instructor
(for a nominal fee).  All of our instructors are qualified and prescreened in
accordance with the same procedures applied to ECS care providers.  If
your child has completed his or her ECS class time for the day, you may
bring him or her to and from class.

Q.  How will my Advent elementary/middle school child attend ALEC classes
if they are or are not enrolled in Advent aftercare?
A.  Any student enrolled in Monday Baton 1, Tuesday Karate C, Wednesday
Mini Corp or Thursday Karate G will go directly to the ALEC class upon
dismissal from school.  At the end of class, a student can be transferred
to advent Aftercare OR picked up by a parent at ALEC studio.  ALEC
instructors must release all students to a parent or parent-approved adult
at the conclusion of class in the studio.  Students will not be permitted
to leave the studio and meet a parent in the parking lot.  For later
afternoon classes, students must either be brought to class by a parent
or be enrolled in Advent's Aftercare program.

Q.  What are the dress requirements for the classes?
A.  Creative Movement students are asked to bring a pink leotard and pink
ballet shoes and have their hair secured in a ponytail or bun. The
instructor will assist the students in changing before/after class.  Yoga
students are asked to dress comfortably in shorts or pants and will
remove their socks and shoes for class.  Yoga mats are provided.  Karate
students should also wear comfortable clothing.  "Gi" uniforms are
available from the instructor but are not required.

Q.  How do I pay for classes at ALEC?
A.  ALEC classes are offered throughout the school year and are divided into
four, nine-week sessions.  You may pay for all four sessions in advance or
pay for each session prior to the start of the session. Payments may be
made by check or cash or you may sign up for automatic withdrawals
from your designated account at the start of each of the four nine-week
