What does it mean to belong at Advent Lutheran Church?
All believers become part of Christ's Body through faith in Him. In order to function within society, that body has many different parts. Choosing a church home with which to share your Christian life and worship is an important decision. Becoming a member of Advent means you will join a church family that shares the love of Christ through worship, prayer, fellowship, Christian education, invitation, service and giving. We are prayerful that our "Belonging" program will help you make an informed decision considering what is right for you, your family and the Body of Christ.
Membership at Advent is a simple procedure, but it involves deep spiritual commitments. We consider it a covenant, or agreement, between all of us to work, pray and worship together for the glory of God and the furtherance of His kingdom.
So that you may feel comfortable in making Advent Lutheran your church home, we have set aside a special weekend of classes and fellowship for you and others interested in becoming members. Our Belonging class for newcomers allows new members to become better acquainted with current church members and leaders and to meet others who are joining the church.
Belonging classes are held once every three months at Advent Lutheran Church. Classes are held over the course of a weekend: Friday evening (6 - 9 p.m.) and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Those completing the class will be received into membership during worship on Sunday.
Free childcare is available to those participating in the Belonging class.
To find out when our next belonging class will be held or to sign up, please check our calendar or contact the church office at 561-395-3632.
Although every participant in Belonging is invited and encouraged to enjoy church membership, it is not a requirement of the program.
